PENGARUH PEMBERIAN PISANG AMBON (Musa Paradisiaca S) TERHADAP TEKANAN DARAH PRA LANSIA HIPERTENSI DI WILAYAH PUSKESMAS LUBUK BUAYA PADANG TAHUN 2019
Hypertension is the number one disease in Indonesia, reaching 25.8% and most cases of hypertension in the community have not been detected. One of the non-pharmacological therapies to treat high blood pressure is Ambon banana which is high in potassium. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Ambon banana on changes in blood pressure in patients with hypertension and its comparison with the positive control group in the work area of Lubuk Buaya Padang Health Center in 2019.
This research is an experimental research, this type of research is one group pretets-post tets. The sample approach on 20 hypertensive respondents used was the purposive sampling method. Divided into two groups, the treatment group that was given Ambon banana was 300 gr a day, measured before and after treatment and the control group, the experiment was carried out for 7 days.
The t-test results of the systolic treatment group before and after showing p value 0,000 and diastolic p value 0,004. This shows significantly the effect of Ambon banana on blood pressure. In the control group also experienced changes but not significant with a difference of 0.5% from the value of p <0.05. Banana Ambon can reduce hypertension because it contains high potassium which works similar to antihypertensive drugs in the human body.
It is recommended to the health center to provide health counseling regarding nonphamacological treatment regarding ambon banana and its effect on the reduction of blood pressure in pre elderly hypertension.
